Reading Recap | April 2019

I feel like I slacked quite a bit last month when it came to reading. I kept picking up books, reading a bit and then putting them back down for weeks. As is, two of these books on my list are still unfinished. *facepalm*

Cold Waters by Debbie Herbert (Amazon First Reads)  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this book. It's a great Southern Noir read and apparently it will be part of a series. Huzzah! Cold Water was full of secrets and twists and I can't wait to get my hands on the second book.

Normal People by Sally Rooney (BOTM)  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm the type of reader who likes everything nice and tidy by the end of the book. I love this book right up until the very end. I don't want to give out any spoilers so I won't get into why. But otherwise it was an awesome read where you root for the characters the whole way.

This is one of my currently reading books. I'm about 40% through and I'm just not feeling it. Don't get me wrong, the writing is fine. Just can't get into it. Will keep trying.

I'm a sucker for true crime novels and this one doesn't disappoint. About half way though and really enjoying it.

I chose How Not To Die Alone by Richard Roper for my May pick with Book of The Month. It was either that or Necessary People by Anna Pitoniak but I'm trying to branch out of my crime reading spree.

What are you reading this month?
