Reading Recap | March 2019

I must've picked this book up (and read half way through) about 4 times. While it was good, it seemed like I plowed through other Kay Scarpetta books in the series. Lots of twists and turns and all the usual characters.

Before She Knew Him by Peter Swanson (BOTM) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My BOTM for March was Before She Knew him and it was fabulous! Definitely did not expect or see the end coming as it did. Will definitely be reading more by Swanson.

Origin by Diana Abu-Jaber ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I snagged Origin from our little library cabinet in the main area of our lofts about 5 months ago and finally got around to reading it. Took a little bit to get into and some of it seemed a little far fetched until it all came together in the end. Really enjoyed it.

My dream job would be a medical examiner so I knew (even though it's not quite the same) that I would love this book. And I did. If any of you are curious about what goes on behind the doors of funeral homes or what it takes to be a funeral director, this one is for you.

Where Monsters Dwell by Jorgen Brekke ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm in the home stretch of this one - only 20 or so more pages to go. I've never read any of Brekke's books before but I'm really enjoying this one. I like how it flips back and forth between not only years, but locations as well.

I ended up choosing Normal People by Sally Rooney for my Book of the Month pick for April. Excited to read this one. I'm slowly dwindling down my to read pile here at home so it looks like I'll be making a trip to the library soon.

What are you reading this month?
