Hi friends! Happy 2021! It's been a hot minute since I've posted anything. Like everyone else that lived through 2020, you could say I was just hanging on. But here's a new year with new stories and new opportunities.
I thought for this year I would use a 6x8 album and create layouts focusing on stories that don't make it to my Project Life album. My first story is all about well, stories. This is a two page spread with a vellum overlay and my main page underneath. The vellum page also acts as a welcome page because I feel like 2021 will be a fresh start for me.
The starburst and digital stamp on the second page are from Ali's Stories by the Month digital kit. I opened the starburst card, deleted the background and center text and then printed it out on vellum. (All supplies are posted at the bottom.) The fresh start chipboard piece is from one of 2020's Stories by the Month physical kits. And I had those gold and black plastic stars from an old Studio Calico kit.
To create this page I opened a photo a took in Snapchat (hooray for filters that make you look like you've been getting 8 hours of sleep!) I added white text around my head and then the digital stamp which I had changed to white to see it better.
Here's what my story says:
It seems as though over the past few years my voice has been tampered
down and I lost the way to tell my stories. They seemed too small to even
warrant the time to tell them or the space in my album. But seriously fuck
all that. Because stories do need to be told, no matter how small or
trivial they may be. So this year I'm telling all of the stories. The good
and the bad and everything else in between. Let 2021 be my Year of Stories.
